Transnational Crime
Criminals have no borders
Globalization has made it easier for transnational criminal organizations to operate across borders. It poses a threat to security by destabilizing states, fueling conflict, and providing support to terrorist groups.
The INTERPORTPOLICE works with UN and other government agencies in support of airport and seaport police and security jurisdiction to address transnational crime. It has been a mainstay since our inception. It is sof great concern in today's globalized world. Criminal organizations have increasingly taken advantage of the ease and speed of international travel and trade to smuggle illicit goods and engage in illegal activities. Airports and seaports serve as key hubs for these criminal networks, providing them with access to a vast network of routes and channels for their operations. Drug trafficking, human smuggling, wildlife trafficking, and counterfeit goods are just some of the illicit activities that occur within these environments. The complex nature of transnational crime makes it challenging for authorities to detect and prevent such activities. International cooperation and the adoption of advanced technologies and intelligence-sharing platforms are crucial in combating these crimes and safeguarding the integrity of airports and seaports worldwide.
